Answer the Call! Volunteer!

Torrington Area Health District needs many public health volunteers in order to stay prepared.   We need both medical and non medical volunteers.  In times of emergencies it is more helpful to have a list of trained individuals than to have to scramble to find help.

Volunteers are needed for the following functions:

  • Mass medication/ vaccination point of dispensing (POD) clinics:  Both medical and non medical volunteers are needed in the event that we would have to offer medicine quickly to all the residents of our area (approximately 120,000 people). To Request more information send an email to lpolito@tahd.org

  • Medical Reserve Corps.

  • Public Health Strike Team:  this is a highly trained group of volunteers who can be called at a moment’s notice to help set up clinics or train other volunteers in the event of an emergency.  Volunteer’s must be willing to take the courses listed below.  Please contact Leslie Polito at 860-489-0436 or lpolito@tahd.org if interested.
