The Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Federal EPA recommend 
that every private well be tested once each year for a minimum of bacteria and nitrates. 

The following are other reasons to consider having your water tested.


Conditions or Nearby Activities:
  1. Recurring gastrointestinal illness . . . .

  2. Bluish-Green stains in sinks, showers etc. . .

  3. Radon in air over 4 pc/l . . . . . . .

  4. Leaks (pinholes) in copper pipes . . . .

  5. Nearness to old or new farm(s) . . . . .

  6. Nearness to buried oil tanks . . . . . .

  7. Salty taste or nearness to a salt storage pile or heavily salted road . . . . . . . .

  8. Nearness to a dump, junkyard, dry cleaners or machine shop . . . . . . . . . .

  9. Any new or different taste, color or odor. . .

  10. Stained toilets, sinks, showers, laundry. . .

  11. New building certificate of occupancy. . .
