Water Testing Center

Many people in the United States receive their water from private ground water wells. EPA regulations that protect public drinking water systems do not apply to privately owned wells. As a result, owners of private wells are responsible for ensuring that their water is safe from contaminants.

Who We Are

  • First opened in 1978 as the Torrington Water Testing Laboratory, the oldest Lab in Litchfield County.
  • We now partner with Phoenix Environmental Laboratories, Inc.
  • Office open M – F, 8am – 4pm but water samples must be dropped off by 10:30am.
  • Certified by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) and holds certification in all New England states, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
